More than a biographical exhibition, Emiliano. Zapata after Zapata proposes an artistic journey through the political uses, social activations and subversions that the Zapatista image has had from 1910 to the present, especially from the migratory flows and cultural exchanges between Mexico and the United States. The included works display the contrasting and changing faces of the Caudillo del Sur as a peasant leader, institutionalized hero, founding myth, Chicano symbol, contemporary guerrilla, banner of political activism, site of indigenous resistance or questioned reference of Mexican machismo
